Buckeye Mountain has recently begun implementation of an industry standard XML file format that will increase efficiency in cross-platform data sharing. The file format, designed for exchange of intermodal equipment repairs and invoices, will be available as a data transfer option in Buckeye Mountain’s Intermodal Maintenance and Repair System (IMRS).
IMRS will be the first system in the industry to employ the use of the XML format, which has been developed with participation from several Class One railroads and IMRS customers. This option compliments the availability of the EDI 412 standard for intermodal equipment repairs, also available as an industry first in IMRS.
By using the XML file format, companies exchanging repair and invoice data via IMRS can realize greater efficiency in file processing, eliminate the use of paper invoices, and easily exchange data with other enterprise systems.
Buckeye Mountain’s IMRS system is an advanced work order and invoice management system designed specifically for use by railroad intermodal operations and related service providers. The system features a web-based Electronic Claims Filing (ECF) component and a tablet computer-based work order management client for use in the field.
